Course Overview

Most data or reporting professionals are good at collecting and delivering data, but often lack the skills to relay a true understanding of the opportunities hidden in the data delivered. This is also true of the business end-users of the information where typically the actual business ‘stories’ behind the information is missed out.

A story creates an emotional response in people, making the message become far more impressive, and easier to remember compared to simply showing or telling facts and figures. Data storytelling is a structured approach for communicating data insights, and it involves a combination of three key elements: data, visuals and narrative.

In this course, you will learn about the concepts and techniques to communicate the data with visuals and stories. You are encouraged to bring your own data to create more impactful data-driven storytelling.
